A Weekend with the Family

We spent this past weekend with Ivo’s family, and it was lovely. On Saturday we went down to Ivo’s cousin’s birthday party in Tilburg (about an hour away) and then went back with Ivo’s parents to spend the night at their house. I needed to get some of my stuff out of their shed in an effort to fix my computer (I’ve been using Ivo’s) and it was just nice to be able to spend some relaxed time with Ivo’s parents, and of course they love spending time with their grandson.

So, here’s Liam bundled up to go out on Saturday – this is the Maxi Cosi car seat we have on loan from Ivo’s sister – it clicks onto our stroller base, which makes it very versatile.

The bunnies are Nijntje (pronounced nine-tcha, but known as Miffy in English) – a world-renowned children’s series that seems to have missed Canada since I’d never heard of it – the author is from Utrecht, so Liam’s received several little Nijntje things.

On Sunday we walked from Ivo’s parents to his sister’s place in the neighbouring village with Ivo’s parents. We saw an argument for better English teaching in schools:

After we visited at Ivo’s sister’s we all walked back for a while together – back on the same bridge:

Leaving the playground – bikes are important here, so of course Mika is learning how to ride, though he still has the training wheels on.
