Tough Baby

Today Liam proved just what a tough baby he is with his reactions to the ever-changing Dutch weather. Our plan for the day was to head into the centre for visits to some specific shops and then go to the market. I’d had a flat tire (of course, I found out about it as I was heading out to my oral exam for my Dutch class on Thursday), and as Ivo was downstairs in the storage locker fixing it, the weather went suddenly from sunny to raging snow storm. I called him and said biking might not be such a cool idea, but by the time he was done it looked fine. We bundled Liam up and headed in to the centre. However, as we got close it started to look ominous and indeed, we biked through hail and snow flurries. Dutch weather is such that it can change by the block and the minute. Liam didn’t flinch through the whole thing. He was of course happy to get into the warmth when we got to the store. He lasted through that store and some market time before having showing any displeasure, and that had to do with being hungry and tired.

Here’s Liam showing off his walking before we left – note how sunny and bright it is outside.

As we were leaving the market, we were treated to a sight and sound of a mobile bicycle bar.
