A night of card games and conversation to celebrate the New Year. Today we went down to Ivo’s parents for a family dinner.
Here’s Liam asleep in the car in his new seat. We try to time travel to coincide with nap time, though he likes the new seat a lot more since he can see things.
The scenery on the way down was lovely, all lacy icy trees with the sun low in a grey sky behind them. Unfortunately, I didn’t take the camera out during the loveliest bits, but here’s some of them.
We brought Liam’s car along for him to play with since he uses it as a walker, but mostly his cousin Mika played with it, riding it all over the house. Here’s Liam finally having a go. (The rest of the pictures are from Leo’s camera.)

A very competitive card game underway involving being the first to hit a bell in the middle if the displayed cards reached a certain total. Cyrille and Ischa usually won. They are very competitive.
A different card game that I haven’t quite figured out. Involves patterns in the displayed cards. I’m pretty useless so far, but couldn’t play for long ’cause motherhood called.
All in all, a lovely evening with the family.
