Since I don’t know any other Canadians here*, celebrating that Thanksgiving didn’t really happen (well, except we had cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes). Luckily, I have another nationality, so along with a few of my American friends, their Dutch partners and the kids we had the full dinner experience on Thanksgiving evening (though the partners all had to work into the evening). It was a lovely time, with great food and great people.
The food.
The people (rest of the photos are by Kerryanne).
*Actually, funnily enough, writing this in mid-December, I just re-met another Canadian. We met for the first time in the midwife practice just before I had Liam – she was about the same stage of pregnancy. Then, in the V&D (like a Sears) last week, I heard a mother speaking English to her two-year-old daughter – we started talking and she remembered me from the first time and this time we exchanged contact information. The best part? She’s pregnant again, due a couple weeks after me.
