Here’s Liam in his Tummy Tub<\/a> getting his bath on New Year’s Day. He really does enjoy it – he sits in it and kicks around happily. Contrary to appearances, Ivo is not trying to strangle him – that’s the proper way to support a baby in this tub, under the chin.<\/p>\n

New Year’s Eve was again pretty laid back. We did have sparkling wine, but we were too late to get oliebollen<\/a>, what the Dutch traditionally eat on NYE (no one seems to know why or have heard of the wiki explanation). But I was most amazed at the sheer number of fireworks that are let off by everyone around. It really does look like a war zone with the smoke and it’s really loud around midnight and everywhere you look the sky is lit with bursts of colour. It was so loud that I worried about hurting Liam’s ears when we stood out on the balcony to take it all in.
