All have, or had, their place &#8211; Liam&#8217;s too tall for the front carrier now, and while I still use the sling, I use it differently, just to secure him on my hip for short distances, and don&#8217;t use it nearly as often. The back carrier is now the on-person implement of choice. So that&#8217;s what we took out for a walk through some of the green space around our house.<\/p>\n<p>Here we are leaving the house &#8211; reflected in the door. I&#8217;m wearing a toque for two reasons &#8211; one, my ear is still blocked and sore from the horrendous ear infection I had last week, and two, Liam thinks pulling my hair is one of the best parts of the back carrier experience. I&#8217;m less enthusiastic.<\/p>\n<div align=center><a href=\"http:\/\/copperlioness.com\/photos\/fall08\/slides\/IMG_3492a.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/copperlioness.com\/photos\/fall08\/slides\/IMG_3492a.jpg\" height=400 alt=\"image\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Reflection in the canal behind our building. Canal is one of the few concepts in Dutch to have many more words than in English &#8211; singel, gracht, kanaal, sloot, tocht, boezem, vaart &#8211; they all translate as just canal as far as I can figure out.<\/p>\n<div align=center><a href=\"http:\/\/copperlioness.com\/photos\/fall08\/slides\/IMG_3493.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/copperlioness.com\/photos\/fall08\/slides\/IMG_3493.JPG\" width=400 alt=\"image\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Two little boys playing soccer &#8211; it&#8217;s nice here that kids can just go out and play, riding a bike to the soccer field, no parent in sight.
