What a difference from last year’s Christmas<\/a>. Then Liam was just 9 days old and we had just finished with kraamzorg<\/a> so we just spent a quiet day together. But this year I managed to make it a “real” Christmas (despite some hesitation from Ivo), with stockings and presents and a big dinner with Ivo’s family. Unlike last year, when I was too tired to feel anything, I did miss being back in Canada with my family very much, all the more so since they had a wonderful white Christmas. But the day here was very nice and celebratory.<\/p>\n

Liam is also starting to communicate with us – his first word sound seems to be Dutch:<\/p>\n

\nIvo: Would you like to get out? Would you like to get out of your chair? Would you like some more food?
\nLiam: (shakes head)
\nIvo: No?
\nLiam: (makes klaar movement)
\nIvo: Oh, you’re done.<\/p>\n
