Cool old buildings in Nördlingen - the red building was a medieval convention centre. The building was constructed in its present form in 1442-1444. During trade fairs it was connected with the neighbouring "Metzig" by a bridge at the first floor level to form a large interconnected trading area for the cloth merchants. When not required for trade fairs it was used by the eminent families of the town for entertaining and giving parties. The ground floor, with its small shops, was reserved for the bakers. |
